OUR PROCESS AND QUESTIONS ABOUT HAIR EXTENSION DAMAGE
Ongoing education is integral to our success, allowing us to innovate and bring fresh creativity to Xpose Beauty daily. From the outset, our goal has been to set new standards in the industry and change how women perceive and wear hair extensions. We’ve dedicated over 20 years to researching and perfecting techniques at Xpose Beauty to become masters of our craft, ensuring the most damage-free applications that help restore your natural hair to healthy lengths.
QUESTIONS ABOUT DAMAGE
A common question we receive is, “Will hair extensions damage my hair?” Our years of dedication to the art of hair extensions, coupled with continuous learning and application of cutting-edge techniques, enable us to provide solutions, even for the most challenging and fragile hair types.
For healthy hair extension applications and results, it’s crucial to understand that the individual performing the extensions must have the knowledge, proper training, and education in the technique being applied. With over two decades of training, research, and perfecting our craft, we bring a new standard, knowledge, and a broader learning spectrum to our industry. Our priority is healthy hair, creating extensions that not only enhance but also better your natural hair, providing healthy results while you wear them.
I HAVE EXTREMELY FINE HAIR OR EXPERIENCE HAIR THINNING/HAIR LOSS. CAN HAIR EXTENSIONS WORK FOR MY HAIR?
One of the unique aspects of our salon is our specialization in clients with thinning, fragile hair types, or those suffering from hair loss. Unlike many hair extension stylists, we excel in working with these clients. Most individuals learn hair extensions on “normal” hair, lacking experience with difficult hair issues. At Xpose Beauty, working with fragile hair types is not just our specialty but also our passion.
When you meet with us, you’ll immediately notice that this is not business as usual. Every client is unique to us because every client is different, especially where hair loss/hair issues are concerned. Our goal is to provide help, offer hope, and show that no one has to live with the fear, anxieties, stress, embarrassment, and often pain associated with difficult hair issues, especially hair loss.
We understand the devastating effects of hair loss and are here to help you with the best hair extension knowledge and technology available.
BEFORE YOUR APPLICATION APPOINTMENT
Ensure a smooth application by having clean, washed hair on the morning of your installation appointment. Please use clarifying shampoo to wash and straighten your hair before coming to the salon. This ensures there is no oil build-up in your natural hair, facilitating a well-installed extension into the natural hair.
VACATION AND HAIR DAMAGE
Protect your extensions during vacations, as the high salt content in ocean water and the harsh chlorine in swimming pool waters can cause damage. This risk applies regardless of hair quality and the duration of your swim. Some vacation destination hotels may have hard water with high oxide content, resulting in dry hair extensions and, in some cases, changes in blonde colour.
We cannot be held responsible for any damage or deterioration of your extensions while you’re on holiday. To mitigate risks, consider taking an old set of extensions on holiday to prevent your new hair from drying out in hot climates. Occasionally, blonde extensions can turn orange or pink due to hotels having very hard water. Please feel free to ask us about our recommendations for products that can eliminate the orange tint and restore the hair to its normal colour. Understand the risks before deciding on your new set if you’re planning to go on holiday.
